When just about anything can be marketed, positioned, or photo shopped to look a certain way we judge artistic endeavors not simply by their aesthetics, but by their authenticity. We ask the reasons a piece of art is created rather than how it was created. We learn the story of the artist and how they came to be.
We will be more interested in the art than the medium it is presented in, as long as it is real, as long as it is true, as long as it's authentic.
If you have questions or comments regarding authenticity and art, email me firstname.lastname@example.org—I'd love to chat!
